Wet sanding is exactly what you think it is....between clear coats of paint you can sand using "waterproof" sand paper...usually in the range of 1000 to 2000 grit....basically your paper is so fine that you are really almost like polishing at this stage....sanding between clears will ensure an absolutely super smooth surface for your next clear coat.
